Dr. King is the Chief of Cardiovascular Critical Care for the Inova Schar Heart and Vascular Hospital and also serves as the Associate Medical Director of the Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant Program at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He completed medical school at the University of Maryland. His internal medicine residency and pulmonary/critical care fellowship were both completed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He joined the staff of Inova Fairfax Hospital in 2014 after exiting active-duty service in the U.S. Army. While in the U.S. Army he served in South Korea, El Paso, TX, and Afghanistan. Dr. King is interested in the critical care of patients with advanced lung disease and has numerous publications on interstitial lung disease, lung transplant, and pulmonary hypertension. |

Dr. Dan Grinnan has served as director of VCU's Comprehensive Care Center since 2014. He has been involved with PHA on the PHAR Steering Committee (Chair 2019-2022) and Accreditation Review Committee (Chair 2022-2024) as well as the ATS. His pulmonary hypertension hobbies include clinical trials, collaborative projects, mentoring, and of course patient care. |

Jean M. Elwing, M.D. completed her undergraduate and medical education at Saint Louis University in 1997. She remained at Saint Louis University and completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 2001. She received her fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. In January 2007 she joined the faculty in the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. She is currently a Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Program in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. Her clinical and research focus is pulmonary vascular disease and pulmonary hypertension. |

John Swisher, PhD, MD is the Director of the East Tennessee Pulmonary Hypertension Center in Knoxville, TN. Dr. Swisher completed medical school at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He subsequently completed Internal Medicine Residency and Pulmonary - Critical Care Fellowship training at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. Dr. Swisher is a Partner at StatCare Pulmonary Consultants in Knoxville. He has a special interest in providing care to the underserved rural Appalachian communities. |

Kristine Ritenour is the Nurse Coordinator for the Pulmonary Vascular Disease Clinic at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). This is currently the only Center for Comprehensive PH Care in the state of South Carolina, and Kristine oversaw submission of the initial application and subsequent reaccreditation applications to PHA. Kristine has worked as an RN at MUSC since 2012 and joined the PVD clinic in 2018. She works with PHA as a support group leader and on the PHCC Review Committee, and she was on the planning committees for the 2021 and 2023 PHPN Symposia. In her free time, she loves to travel and play tennis. |

Michael D. Duncan, MD received his undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University and his medical degree at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center- Houston. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics as well as his fellowship in pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. During his fellowship he spent 18 months focused on lung transplantation and pulmonary hypertension.
Dr. Duncan is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine and Neurocritical Care. Prior to his current role as the Division Chief of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center- Dallas, he spent 19 years at Indiana University Medical Center. He has been the Medical Director of the IU Lung Transplant Program as well as the Pulmonary Vascular Diseases and ECMO Programs. The IU Pulmonary Hypertension Program was named as a PHA Center for Comprehensive Care during his tenure as the director. He also serves as the Director for the Advanced Lung Diseases Center at BUMC. He is currently serving his second term on the Pulmonary Hypertension Association ‘s Pulmonary Hypertension Comprehensive Care Review Committee. Dr. Duncan’s clinical and translational research interests are focused on lung transplant and pulmonary hypertension. He also remains very active in medical education and holds academic appointments at Texas A&M College of Medicine and Texas Christian University Burnett School of Medicine. |

Dr. Sood is the Director of Advanced Lung disease at University of California- Davis. After completing her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine in 1999 she has focused on pulmonary vascular disease including pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary embolism, and lung disease related to rheumatological disease and sickle cell anemia. She has participated in multicenter trials for development of therapies for PH. She has participated in the development of guidelines for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension, venothromboembolic disease and pulmonary hypertension in sickle cell anemia. |

Dr. Nicholas Andreas Kolaitis is a Pulmonologist at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), with a focus on lung transplantation and pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Kolaitis is a California native who earned his medical degree at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. He then completed residency in internal medicine at UCLA Health, followed by fellowships in lung transplantation and pulmonary and critical care medicine at UCSF. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kolaitis serves as the director of bronchoscopy for the UCSF Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine. On the research front, Dr. Kolaitis focuses on ways to improve quality of life for patients with advanced lung disease. He holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research. He also serves on the Editorial Boards of Chest and the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation Open. Dr. Kolaitis is a proud member of the American Thoracic Society, where he serves on the Health Policy Committee and as California's Representative to the Council of Chapter representatives; the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, where he serves on the Advocacy Committee; the Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute, where he serves on the Lung Transplantation Innovative Drug Delivery Initiative Workstream; and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, where he serves on Scientific Leadership Council and is on the steering committee of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association Registry. Additionally, he is currently serving a four-year term as the chair of the California Thoracic Society Conference 2023-2027. |

Dr. Varghese is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in Pulmonology at Baylor College of Medicine and the Medical Director of the Texas Children's Hospital Pulmonary Hypertension Center, in Houston, TX. Dr. Varghese’s interests are in developmental lung disease including BPD, pediatric PH and transition. Her research is in clinical care of PH in pediatric patients. |

Dr. Oksana A. Shlobin is the Medical Director of the Inova Fairfax Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program. She also serves as the Director of Education and Director of Outreach for the Inova Fairfax Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant Program. She is an Associate Professor of Medical Education at the University of Virginia School of Medicine (Inova Campus). Dr. Shlobin started her medical training at Georgetown University School of Medicine, continued with the Internal Medicine residency at Harvard Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and completed Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Shlobin is actively involved in clinical research in pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung diseases, sarcoidosis and lung transplantation. She currently serves as a Vice Chair for the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Vascular Disease Network for ACCP/Chest, a Chair for the Pulmonary Hypertension in Chronic Lung Disease Taskforce at the upcoming World Symposium on Pulmonary Hypertension and is a member of the Oversight Committee for PHA. |

Yon Sung, MD is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is a pulmonary /critical care physician, pulmonary hypertension specialist, and director of the chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) program at Stanford. At the PHA, she has served as the Vice Chair of the Pulmonary Hypertension Care Centers (PHCC) Review Committee and is the Chair of the Accreditation Criteria Revision Task Force. |
